OMONIA TRANS, WE HANDLE - WE CARE

JUNE 2021 // 64th NEWSLETTER

By the pen of OMONIA TRANS!

At OMONIA TRANS we believe that our improvement passes through the continuous improvement of our industry. We become better as a company when we all become better as an industry! For this reason, we gladly welcome and respond positively to any invitations from reputable magazines and portals of our field to write articles or express our opinions.

In this context, and following our Head of International Network Konstantinos Patsiotis’ article for Logistics News last month, this time OMONIA TRANS has penned an article for the prestigious Supply Chain & Logistics publication. The author is Panagiotis Theodorou, OMONIA TRANS’  IT & Logistics Manager.

With his long experience in the industry, Panagiotis analyzes modern 3PL services and explains what makes a business flexible and efficient in our times. He examines which organizations benefit most from working with 3PL companies, and also writes about carbon footprint, the biggest criterion for any company in the 21st century.

It is, indeed, an article worth reading!

First Aid is our first priority

At OMONIA TRANS, the safety of our staff, in terms of both prevention and First Aid knowledge is our first rule and our highest priority. Nothing is above the health of our people!

Therefore, training our staff in First Aid is never a “typical” procedure for us. For this reason, we have chosen as our partner the well known company First Aid and the trainer Mr. Efthimios Gandis, certified by the global organization Emergency First Response which has 56,000 trainers worldwide. ( you may address at the site : www.first-aid.gr )

OMONIA TRANS selected employees from both the offices and the warehouse who were trained in a complete First Aid package:
  • Complete training in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
  • First Aid
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Oxygen Supply.

The participants in the program also obtained a degree, which follows the standards of the International Organization ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation).

The market is not flying in the cloud. It uses it!

Cloud computing has been one of the great weapons of business for about 15 years. Since its first application through Amazon (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud), back in the distant 2006, and until today, the Cloud has made great leaps and turned from a tool for the few into a tool for survival.

In addition, the advent of the pandemic accelerated the penetration of the Cloud in both global and Greek business. According to research, at the moment, 2 out of 3 Greek companies consider the Cloud a necessary component of their future development in the post-COVID era.

With the Cloud at the helm, but also with the installation of CRM customer management systems, the reorganization of processes with ERP systems, the operation of modern websites and the interaction in digital social networks with their customers, Greek companies seem to be entering a dynamic new era of digital transformation.

Let’s continue flying in the cloud!

Kind regards, OMONIA TRANS team.
