JUNE 2023 // 84o Newsletter

Our “own” pages at the Supply Chain & Logistics magazine

The industry of transport and logistics is going through one of the most critical phases in its history, both internationally and in Greece. The “hot” issue of sustainability in the supply chain as well as the adaptation to the Fit for 55 EU directive concerns us all today and will continue to concern us, for many years to come.

Hence, when the industry extended an invitation for us to express our stance on the matter, we readily accepted. Our company’s Head of Sales, Dimitra Patsioti, had the privilege of being featured in Supply Chain & Logistics, a highly esteemed and renowned magazine dedicated to the supply chain field in our country. In this publication, she articulately presented OMONIA TRANS’ standpoint on both sustainability and the Fit for 55 initiative.

During her interview, Mrs. Patsioti underscored the importance of environmental consciousness as an essential prerequisite for business growth and profitability. She also outlined the necessary measures that the industry needs to undertake in order to implement the ambitious, albeit challenging, Fit for 55 goals.

June. We had visitors!

This year marks Slovakia’s 30th anniversary of independence, achieved through the peaceful “velvet revolution” and subsequent separation from Czechoslovakia in 1993. In just a single generation, Slovakia has undergone rapid development, becoming a member of the European Union and achieving a top position on the United Nations’ Human Development Index (HDI).

This June, OMONIA TRANS is delighted to extend a warm welcome to our esteemed guests from Slovakia. We not only wish to celebrate their country’s three decades of independence but also engage in fruitful discussions about the progress and evolution of our shared endeavors. Together, we aim to set new goals for our future collaborations.

Naturally, all of these interactions take place within the backdrop of OMONIA TRANS’ renowned Greek hospitality, ensuring an unforgettable experience for our guests, harmonized with the allure of the Greek summer.

Welcome! Vitajte!

Greek Logistics: Digitalization led to 19th place worldwide

According to the latest data released by the World Bank, our country has achieved a remarkable feat in the field of logistics. Greece has soared to the 19th position globally in the Logistics Performance Index, surpassing countries like Turkey and Poland, and sharing the same rank as China and Italy. This significant progress becomes even more impressive when considering that just five years ago, Greece was placed at the 42nd spot.

These figures are not coincidental but primarily attributed to the profound impact of digital transformation within the Greek supply chain. The advent of digitization has revolutionized our market, leading to upgraded infrastructure, enhanced educational standards, improved service quality, more efficient customs controls, and the ability to track and predict delivery times.

At OMONIA TRANS, we take pride in being pioneers of digitalization in our industry. Through years of investment in cutting-edge digital tools and a commitment to staying abreast of the latest software advancements, our company consistently caters to our extensive and ever-growing clientele. We offer on-time deliveries, competitive pricing, and a steadfast commitment to minimizing delays—traits that have become the hallmarks of OMONIA TRANS!

Kind regards, OMONIA TRANS team.
