Transportation & Supply Chain: Less talent, bigger problems

One significant challenge facing the Transportation and Supply Chain sector in our
country is a talent shortage. According to a survey by ManpowerGroup, a global
leader in human resources, 82% of companies in Greece’s Transport & Logistics
sector struggle to find qualified talent.

Greece, along with Germany, Japan, and Israel, is among the four countries
experiencing the highest levels of talent shortage globally, highlighting a widespread
issue.

Each nation has its unique factors contributing to this difficulty, such as aging
populations and insufficient development. In Greece, the brain drain during the
memorandum era has created a significant talent gap. Between 2010 and 2022, over a
million members of the economically active population left the country.

How are businesses responding? They are adopting various strategies, including
greater flexibility in work schedules and locations, offering bonuses, exploring new
talent pools (such as mature workers), and increasing salaries. At OMONIA TRANS,
we recognize these market challenges and continuously seek the best talents by
creating an excellent work environment, fostering progress, and ensuring rapid
development.

¡Viva España!

Spain is the land of flamenco and bullfighters. The land of tapas and sangria, siestas,
festivals, and Don Quixote. It is the home of Picasso, Dali, Gaudi, and the Sagrada
Familia. It is where Real Madrid and Barcelona reign. Spain is all this and so much
more, far beyond what can be captured in a few lines of a newsletter.

But Spain is also something else: the country of OMONIA TRANS! In recent years,
our company has strengthened its connections with this Iberian nation through
strategic partnerships and investments. We have expanded our transport network,
introduced new routes, and enhanced our services.

In this context, our Sales Director, Dimitra Patsiotis, recently visited Spain (also, the
new European champion after Euro 2024)! During her visit, she made significant
contacts with leading partners. The meetings reaffirmed what we already know well:
our unwavering commitment to quality and reliability has earned the trust of our
Spanish customers and partners.

See you in September!

As this is our last summer newsletter, it is time for all of us to “recharge our batteries”
with some much-needed August relaxation, rest, and memorable moments. We hope
you enjoy the sun, the sea, and the company of your loved ones, returning refreshed
and full of energy.

Happy holidays, and we’ll see you in September!
