As for our company, autumn marks the launch of two dynamic and highly promising routes: Austria and Switzerland signify the presence of OMONIA TRANS in Central Europe. And of course, we don’t stop there! Our third step of expansion comes with the enlargement of our network in France, with weekly groupage loads from Lyon.

With steady steps and continuous investment in growth, OMONIA TRANS remains by your side, offering solutions that connect Europe with reliability and consistency.
165 packages, one mission: love

In mid-summer, OMONIA TRANS received an invitation from the Chatzigakis Foundation to support an important action for society. The mission concerned 165 packages destined for vulnerable families, affected by extreme heat and increased needs.

We responded immediately and willingly, undertaking the free transport of the packages. For us, supporting such initiatives is not simply an obligation, but a profound expression of our corporate culture and social responsibility. Society moves forward when we all move forward together!

Since 2012, the “Packages of Love” program of the Chatzigakis Foundation has supported more than 4,000 families all over Greece. Guided by real needs and criteria such as number of family members, financial situation, and place of residence, each package is filled with food, school supplies, toys, seasonal items, and essential goods.
Fighting smuggling with a system

The current National Customs Code, in place for 23 years, is being upgraded with a new bill from the Ministry of National Economy and Finance. Within this framework, the creation of a comprehensive Monitoring System for Commercial Vehicles and Containers is foreseen, with the aim of upgrading customs control and strengthening transparency in the movement of goods.

The new system will combine modern technological tools, such as fixed and mobile backscatter X-ray scanning systems, mobile control units with automatic license plate recognition cameras, entry-exit card issuance and reading devices, and automatic control barriers at customs and ports.

Data management will be carried out by the services of the General Directorate of Customs and Excise Duties of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE). This is an important step that brings together technology and security, shielding the country against phenomena of the shadow economy.
