 | | Our people are our strength! For us at OMONIA TRANS, one of the core pillars of growth is our ongoing investment in our people, something that is already evident in practice. In recent months, our company increased its workforce by 10%, strengthening key departments and creating more flexible and efficient teams. At the same time, preparations are underway for an additional 10% increase, supporting the steadily rising demand and our long-term development plan. This expansion is not treated as a simple numerical boost, but as a strategic investment in human capital. For this reason, we have developed modern onboarding and integration processes for new employees. From training and guidance to full immersion in our corporate culture, OMONIA TRANS ensures every new member feels part of our team from day one. We handle. We care… above all, for our people! | | | | Together with the Chatzigakis Foundation, together for schools! OMONIA TRANS continues its long-standing collaboration with the Chatzigakis Foundation, participating once again in the “Together for Schools” campaign. Our team enthusiastically collected school supplies, books, and educational materials, helping children in remote and hard-to-reach areas of Greece gain access to essential resources for the new school year. At the same time, we undertook the free transportation of the items gathered, actively supporting an initiative that has been running since 2012 and grows stronger every year. Last year, “Together for Schools” reached more than 100 schools across 13 Regions of Greece, and this year, the goal is even higher. We continue together with the Chatzigakis Foundation, together for schools! | | | | A hub of the future with trucks from the past? The recent 14th Solutions in Supply Chain Conference by PwC highlighted a reality we can no longer overlook: Greece still operates with one of the oldest truck fleets in Europe, a fact that seriously undermines the country’s position in international supply chains and limits its competitiveness. As leading industry experts emphasized, most Greek transport companies remain small businesses, with 80% generating less than €1 million in annual turnover. The high cost of purchasing new trucks makes fleet renewal extremely challenging, resulting in an average truck age of 22.6 years, one of the highest in the EU. To transform Greece into a true freight hub of the future, trucks from the past simply won’t do. Targeted incentives, fleet renewal support, and strategic collaborations or mergers are essential to create economies of scale. Equally important is the adoption of smart practices, such as establishing open logistics hubs every 200 km, already implemented successfully abroad. These steps can significantly improve efficiency and accelerate the green transition in transport. | | | |
