OMONIA TRANS, WE HANDLE - WE CARE
MAY 2026

We trained… and gave back!

When we began our first aid seminars with the Hellenic Red Cross, we were informed by its representatives that there was a shortage of training manikins, an essential tool for hands-on education and for helping new learners practice first aid skills.

Without a second thought, OMONIA TRANS responded immediately by donating a complete set of Prestan training manikins (adult, child and infant), making a meaningful contribution to supporting the work of the Hellenic Red Cross.

For us, social contribution has value when it turns into meaningful action. Because behind every first aid lesson, there may one day be a moment when someone saves a life!

One move ahead!

OMONIA TRANS is supporting the Petralona Chess Club through sponsorship, backing the team’s participation in the 2026 Greek First Division National Chess Championship, a high-level competition that brings together top teams and athletes from across Greece.

Through this sponsorship, we have made a tangible contribution to supporting a club that has long served the spirit of chess, cultivating strategic thinking, concentration, discipline and fair play. Best of luck to the team’s chess players!

The Petralona Chess Club is an active association with an official presence in the Hellenic Chess Federation since 2012, organizing competitions, training sessions and activities for all ages. Its training and competition venue is located at 57 Alkminis Street, in Kato Petralona, Athens.

New developments at Europe’s borders

The European Union’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) is moving into a broader phase of implementation at the external borders of the Schengen Area, introducing digital registration and biometric checks for non-EU short-stay travelers and certain categories of professional drivers.

The system, which gradually replaces passport stamping, is expected to have possible effects on border crossing times, particularly where infrastructure or operational readiness has not yet been fully developed. Every beginning is difficult!

The International Road Transport Union (IRU) is closely monitoring the implementation of the measure, highlighting the need for smooth and coordinated deployment in order to ensure effective border management without creating operational difficulties for the transport sector.
